Vacation Bible School July 12-16, 2010 It's the family vacation of a lifetime! Bring the entire family to ancient Egypt! You'll travel back into bible times without setting foot outside our community! Each day your family members can become part of history as they see, hear, touch, and even taste what it was like to live in Pharaoh's Empire. You'll explore authentic Marketplace shops, visit Joseph (who's in Pharaoh's prison...then get promoted to Pharaoh's palace!) take part in games, dance to lively bible songs, and sample tasty tidbits as you discover more about how God was with Joseph in good times and bad. These experiences make God's Word come alive with new meaning for those who participate. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Children love our summer Vacation Bible School, which is a week of exciting Bible lessons, fun games, delicious snacks, exciting crafts, new and familiar music, entertaining skits and much more!! The goal of each and every activity is to reinforce Biblical truths as our kids learn to trust and celebrate God's goodness and power.

Fourth of July Celebration: A First General Baptist Circus!! First General Baptist Church believes in the importance of having opportunities for families to come together as a church. Our annual Fourth of July Celebration is filled with games, food, fun, and great fellowship. Whether it's getting wet in the dunk tank, playing our own version of Redneck Rodeo or enjoying a delicious pig roast, there is something for everyone to enjoy. This year's Circus theme will include appearances from Sally the Clown as well as some friends from the Scovill petting zoo. Join us for an afternoon of great food and fun!

"Kid's Block" at Decatur Celebration August 6-8, 2010 Our Church is responsible for this event during the Decatur Celebration. Kid's Block is a family-friendly atmosphere where children can play games, do crafts and participate and enjoy stage shows throughout the weekend.

Brotherhood Wild Game Supper Enjoy a taste of the wild!! Our Brotherhood/Men in Action host this annual event, which includes a menu of venison, duck, elk, quail, deer chili, catfish and lots more!! Get your tickets early if you want to sample wild game cooking at its best. All proceeds from this event are used for the ministry of Brotherhood/Men in Action.
